Nancy McLain District 3

It's election time again, and I am campaigning for my fourth and final term in the AZ House of Representatives. I have been honored to serve for the past six years, and, if re-elected, I promise to continue to work hard for District 3 and all of Arizona, especially as we grapple with our continuing fiscal crisis.

During my three terms I have been an effective voice for rural Arizona and have earned the respect of both leadership and fellow members. I have worked well with the mayors, supervisors, and other elected officials within District 3, which includes Mohave County and portions of Coconino and La Paz Counties. I will continue to function cooperatively with those who also represent my legislative constituents -- working together for all of our citizens.

My particular focus will be on revitalizing Arizona's economic climate. I was a strong supporter of HB2250 in the 2010 session. This plan provided a framework of tax and other incentives for both existing businesses and companies looking to re-locate. Unfortunately, after passing in the House, it stalled in the Senate. A similar plan is already proposed for our session beginning in January, 2011. I have already signed on and will be working to pass this much needed legislation.

For the past few years I have been posting "Weekly Reports" during the legislative session. These are still available for reading by clicking on the Archives on the side bar. There are also a series of "Issues and Answers" essays that I have written or posted in response to various issues of importance to me and/or my constituents. I will continue to post both "Weekly Reports" and additional commentaries on issues of particular interest. I hope you will learn more about me and my philosophy of government by taking a look.
